Proteoforms are new territory for most of the field.

What do you want to know about them?

At HUPO 2026, we're convening a panel of experts to discuss the question, "Can proteoforms change our understanding of biology?" While we firmly believe the answer to this question is yes, there are many open questions about proteoforms and we'd like to know what you're curious about. Submit a question through the form below and we may ask it to our panel at HUPO 2026 on Monday, September 28th from 12:15pm - 1:15 in Room 334-336. Our panelists will include:

  • Birgit Schilling, Ph.D. - Professor at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging
  • Jochen Schwenk, Ph.D. - Professor at the KTH Royal Institute Of Technology, SciLifeLab
  • Bernd Wollscheid, Ph.D. - Professor at ETH Zürich

Even if we don't get to ask your question to the panel, we may answer it on a future episode of the Translating Proteomics podcast. Potential queston topics might include:

  • How the field defines proteoforms and proteoform groups
  • Research questions that hinge on proteoforms
  • How different technologies quantify proteoforms
